By networking, the Committee works toward the development of uniform customer service standards and explores any new ideas or trends to enhance customer service operations. The Commercial Activities Committee interacts with utilities managers by sharing organizational information, operational data and conducting member surveys on related subjects. The committee specifically deals with questions concerning customer information, meter reading, billing, collection/credit, service termination and legislation relating to customer services issues.

Meetings
The Committee holds three meetings each
year with the first meeting at CMUA's annual conference (first quarter).
The remaining two meetings alternate North and South (California) depending
on the site of the Annual Conference. The Customer Services Committee (formerly
the Commercial Activities Committee)
is one of CMUA's oldest and most active committees.
